The Dark Side.............

Well I have gone back, to the dark side, my young padwans. After many years without a kayak paddling urge I have decided to get one, a sea boat, which I'm collecting tomorrow down in 'Gods Own Country' (Doncaster). This is the model here.

Well, started padling at 12, in the sea scouts at Rhu, then have always dabbled. Raft guided in the alps one summer. Just love 'exploring' wether MTbing, biking, canoeing, kayaking or climbing...but I tell you England is FLAT!

Gonna be doing Canoe polo in the new build at school hopefully.

Greetings NT! I first paddled on the sea at Ardencaple on the Island of Seil in 1967 at a multi troop Scout camp. I was with the 60th Ayrshire but the Rhu Sea Scouts were also there. They had yellow fibre glass kayaks, rowing boats and mirror dinghies. I spent a great deal of time with them and even got my oarsman badge! Unfortunately I got waylaid by sailing and did not get back to sea kayaking until 35 years later!

Welcome back!

I kayaked from NW Bute, back thru the Kyles and Rhu,in a day, a long day, in the late 80's. The safety boat was 'Pladda' a four man rowing boat.
